Dark Horse has announced the upcoming release of Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Omnibus—Series I and II. The 304-page paperback will be available in bookstores on April 7, 2026, and comic book shops on April 8, 2026, at a cover price of $29.99.
The Omnibus collects Volume 1, which was written by Matthew Mercer (creator of Critical Role) and Matthew Colville, illustrated by Olivia Samson, and colored and lettered by Chris Northrop, and Volume 2, which was written by Matthew Mercer and Jody Houser, illustrated by Olivia Samson, colored by MSASSYK, and lettered by Ariana Maher. Cover art for the book is by Hunter Bonyun.
This material was previously collected in hardcover as a library edition in 2020 (see “‘Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins’ Receives Hardcover“) and was a top 10 seller (see “November 2020 NPD BookScan“).
The series is continuing, with Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Volume IV due out in November in paperback and deluxe hardcover formats (see “Graphic Novels for Gamers“).
