Oni Press Debuts a New Logo and Company Icon

Oni Press has unveiled a new logo and company icon ahead of New York Comic Con. The new logo – designed by multiple Eisner Award nominee Patrick Crotty, who was recently nominated for both an Eisner Award and Ringo Award for his design for Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim 20th Anniversary Hardcover Box Sets – will debut in November on Crownsville #1, the first issue of the highly anticipated, supernatural thriller from Peabody Award-winning screenwriter, producer and acclaimed comic writer Rodney Barnes and stunning artist Elia Bonetti.

Oni Press has used two primary logos since the company was first founded by Joe Nozemack and Bob Schreck in 1997. The original logo was designed by Dave Gibbons, the award-winning co-creator of Watchmen and appeared on classic Oni Press comics including Clerks: The Comic Book by Kevin Smith & Jim Mahfood and the Oni Double Feature anthology. The second Oni Press logo was designed by art director Keith A. Wood and introduced in 2012, subsequently adorning more than a decade of iconic and influential creator-owned series from Cullen Bunn & Brian Hurtt’s The Sixth Gun through Christopher Cantwell and Tyler Crook’s Out of Alcatraz, which arrives in hardcover October 22nd.

In the coming months, the company will publish a high-profile slate of comics and graphic novels, including the new hardcover collections Benjamin by Edgar Award nominee & Philip K. Dick Award winner Ben H. Winters and rising star Leomacs and Eisner Award-nominated cartoonist Patrick Horvath’s Free For All. Oni’s slate of original graphic novels will also welcome several prominent new additions across the coming winter, including The Demon of Beausoleil by Mariana Costa, the next volume of LySandra Vuong’s acclaimed Covenant series, and Agent Cupcake, a middle-grade graphic novel from the Eisner-nominated team of Mel Hilario, Katie Longua & Lauren Davis.

Oni Press operates under the umbrella of Polarity – a diversified media company owned by entrepreneur David Steward II that also counts Lion Forge Entertainment amongst its growing stable of entertainment entities.

More news on the publisher’s upcoming releases will be revealed during New York Comic-Con 2025 at the “Oni Press: The Loudest Thing in Color” panel presentation on Friday, October 10th at 3:30 pm with a star-studded cast of Oni’s upstart creators past, present, and future – including Rodney Barnes (Crownsville), Mat Heagerty (Indoor Kid), Matt Kindt (EC’s Catacomb of Torment), George Northy (Yuletide), Adam Syzm (Little Visitor & Other Abductions), and more.
