Mad Cave Studios has promoted four staff members internally and made one new hire, the company announced.
Christina Harrington has been promoted to Senior Editor. Harrington, who was previously an Assistant Editor in Marvel’s X-Men editorial group and then Managing Editor at AfterShock Comics, came to Mad Cave as Direct Market Coordinator in 2022 and joined the editorial department in 2023 (see “Mad Cave Adds Editors”). “Christina’s sharp editorial instincts and dedication to storytelling have been instrumental in shaping standout projects across our line,” Editor-in-Chief Mike Marts said in a statement accompanying the announcement.
Mad Cave has also promoted Adam Wallenta to Senior Editor for Papercutz, Mad Cave’s all-ages graphic novel imprint. Wallenta is the co-creator, with his son, of the Ringo Award-winning Punk Taco. Like Harrington, he joined the editorial team in 2024. “Adam brings a unique creative perspective and strong editorial leadership to every Papercutz project, and this new role is a well-deserved recognition of his talent,” Marts said.
On the marketing side, Frank Silva has been promoted to Marketing & Communications Manager. Silva, who has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida International University, came to Mad Cave in 2020 as an Executive Assistant and was promoted to Marketing and Communications Coordinator in 2023.
Spenser Nellis, who started at Marketing Manager at Papercutz in 2019, has been promoted to Senior Marketing Manager: Kids & YA. Nellis’s tenure at Papercutz precedes Mad Cave’s acquisition of the children’s graphic novel publisher in 2022 (see “Mad Cave Studios Acquires Papercutz”). His previous experience includes a writing internship at Frederator Networks and an editorial internship at Penguin Random House.
Mad Cave also announced it has hired Leah Spann as Publishing Operations Specialist, working on day-to-day operations. Spann was an editor at DAW Books for six years and has also done freelance editing and consulting. She graduated Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology.Source: ICv2
