eBay logged a pair of multi-million dollar Pokemon TCG single card sales via their primary online auction platform on September 12, 2025.

The first card sold was a PSA 9 graded Pokemon TCG Trainer #1 card, which went for $3 million. This is a 1999 Japanese Promo card with a Pikachu holding a trophy that was given out to 1st thru 3rd place finishers in the 1998 Pokemon World Championship.

The second card sold was PSA 9 graded Pokemon TCG “Pikachu” Illustrator Unnumbered 1998 CoroCoro Comics Promo card, which went for $4 millionThis Pokemon TCG promo card is considered one of the “Holy Grails” of the game for collectors because it was only distributed to winners of an illustration contest through CoroCoro Comics, and there were only 39 copies of this card distributed, in total. Another PSA 9 copy of this card had been previously sold via Heritage Auctions in 2022 for $840,000 (see “Promo Card Sells for $840,000 at Heritage“).
