Gifts Week 2025: Game Accessories for Holiday Inventory

Aside from the TCG category, the hottest category in the games industry has been accessories. Prices for games and miniatures are slowly, but surely, increasing to make up for tariffs and other increased costs (see “Tariff Hit“), and game consumers’ disposable income is either flat or declining. As noted in an earlier Gifts Week article (see “$34.99 is the New $29.99“), consumers are looking to spend about 5% less in 2025, and one of the ways they can stretch their gift budgets is by buying accessories for the games they love (as opposed to buying the games themselves).

This holiday season should be huge for accessories because their price points are less expensive than games and also, the accessories selection has been absolutely phenomenal this year. Companies like heo Group, Sirius Dice, Foam Brain, and more recently, Gamegenic have absolutely been killing it with the products they’ve scheduled for release this year. Some of this has to do with the IPs they’ve been acquiring to enhance their products, some of it has to do with straight up innovation; but, despite the tariffs slowing down release dates, this has been a banner year for dice, card protection, and paints.

Retailers should look to stock the Best of the Best for Christmas, and ICv2 has put together a list of a few good places to start.
