2025 Has Been a Rough Year for Publishers, But a Few Gems Hit the Market in Time for Christmas
The holiday season is finally here, and the chips are about to fall where they may for board games publishers around the globe. This has been an exceptionally hard year for several board game publishers due to see-saw tariff policies (see “Erratic Tariff Policy“), distribution chaos (see “Green Ronin vs. Diamond“), and of course, shipping problems. Many publishers didn’t have a lot of answers in the middle of the year, and as a result, lots of board games are hitting the street at the end of the year.
For retailers, the holiday season is all about being choosy with inventory. There are going to be plenty of board games on the market in the coming months, it’s important to stock the best in the 2025 class for gift buyers as well as games that will just turn over quickly.
