Pokémon to Celebrate Upcoming Video Game and Trading Card Game Launches with Interactive Fan Experience at Premier Pop Culture Event
Bellevue, Wash. – July 16, 2025 – Ahead of the highly anticipated launches of the Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game and the Mega Evolution expansion for the best-selling Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), The Pokémon Company International will bring an interactive and immersive fan experience spotlighting Mega Evolution Pokémon to Comic-Con International in San Diego.
Trainers will receive opportunities to participate in the Pokémon Mega Evolution Experience at Comic-Con International on July 24-27, 2025, at the San Diego Convention Center. At the official Pokémon booth, Trainers will learn how to Mega Evolve their Pokémon by participating in various activities and learning more about fan-favorite Mega Evolution Pokémon that will appear in Pokémon Legends: Z-A and the Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution expansion.
“The Pokémon brand is looking forward to returning to San Diego and Comic-Con International with a special immersive experience as it celebrates a ‘Mega’ year with the upcoming launch of the Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game and Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution expansion,” said Taito Okiura, vice president of marketing and media at The Pokémon Company International. “Just like Mega-Evolved Pokémon, this celebration is too big to contain! We can’t wait to bring this experience to Trainers as we continue our mission of bringing the joy of Pokémon to fans in innovative and engaging ways.”
Pokémon Mega Evolution Experience at Comic-Con International 2025
Comic-Con International attendees can visit the Pokémon booth #235, located in the Exhibit Hall of the San Diego Convention Center, to begin their Mega Evolution journey, where they’ll receive a Mission Pass, while supplies last. Fans willcomplete several missions throughout the booth that simulate the Mega Evolution process as seen in the Pokémon video game franchise, including the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A. At the end of their adventure, visitors will receive photo ops and Mega Evolution-themed goodies, while supplies last. In addition, Trainers will be able to participate in Mega Raids in Pokémon GO as part of the experience.
Additional Pokémon Offerings at Comic-Con International 2025
At Comic-Con International, Trainers can engage in more Pokémon experiences and have chances to purchase event-exclusive merchandise, while supplies last, including the Squirtle Squad 5-Piece Plush Set by Jazwares, featuring the iconic Squirtle Squad as 8-inch plushies presented in a display case (located at the Jazwares booth #3513). In addition, the highly collectable Funko Pop! Jumbo Entei figure can be purchased at the Funko booth #5341. Other officially licensed Pokémon products will be on display at the Jazwares booth, Kotobukiya both #3535, Loungefly booth #5145, Hallmark For All Fankind booth #3348 and Insight Editions booth #2129. Jazwares booth visitors will also be treated to photo ops with a Gengar statue.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A will launch on the Nintendo Switch family of systems on Oct. 16, 2025. For more information about the video game, fans can visit the official Pokémon Legends: Z-A website. Amega-fun weekend is on the horizon, Trainers—we’re bringing a Pokémon Mega Evolution Experience to Comic-Con International 2025 in San Diego from July 24–27, 2025! At our walk-through convention experience, you’ll have the chance to go on your own Mega Evolution journey and catch up with the latest on Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and Pokémon GO.
As you explore the booth, you’ll receive a mission pass to participate in a series of interactive activities that teach you about Mega Evolution. At the end of your adventure, you’ll get a special photo opportunity, plus Pokémon- and Mega Evolution-themed goodies, all while supplies last. To add more fun to the experience, Trainers can also participate in Mega Raids in Pokémon GO to topple a powerful Venusaur!
Once you’ve completed your Mega Evolution experience, booth visitors can keep the rewards rolling in Pokémon TCG Live, Pokémon TCG Pocket, Pokémon UNITE, and Pokémon Masters EX, when you sign up for email updates on-site. By opting in, you’ll later receive an email for the following in-game rewards:
- 4,000 Trainer Points for Pokémon TCG Live
- 24 pack hourglasses for Pokémon TCG Pocket
- A platinum Mewtwo boost emblem and a 3-day limited license for Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y for Pokémon UNITE
- 3,000 gems for Pokémon Masters EX
