About the Panel

Diversity in Fantasy highlights the importance of representation in a genre that has historically centered a narrow range of voices. This panel celebrates authors who bring rich, culturally grounded, and emotionally resonant stories to the forefront—stories that reflect the wide spectrum of identities, backgrounds, and experiences found in our world.

Panelists will share how they craft authentic characters, build inclusive worlds, and navigate the responsibilities of storytelling in a genre beloved by readers of all kinds. The conversation will explore the joy, challenge, and necessity of writing fantasy that speaks to a broader, more diverse audience, because everyone deserves to see themselves as the hero of the story.

Signing Session

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the authors during an official signing session from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM in the Autograph Area (Sails Pavilion, Table AA06)—just before the panel. Fans can chat with panelists, have books signed, and discover new reads from fresh voices shaping the future of fantasy.
