Catch the first episode of an all-new live game show where contestants’ knowledge about Pokémon is put to the test.
Do you hear that, Trainers? It’s the sound of our host and contestants getting ready to put on the very best quiz show, like no other ever was: the Gotta Catch ’Em All! Game Show. On June 27, 2025, tune in to the Pokémon Twitch channel at 11:00 a.m. PDT and join our host Brian David Gilbert and three contestants in this all-new trivia show with a twist.
In case you missed it, the contestants for the first episode are:
- Steve Sarumi, host of PKMNcast’s weekly Pokémon podcast “It’s Super Effective”
- Jake “Spragels” Sprague, comedian and Pokémon UNITE commentator
- GlitchxCity, a video game music remix artist

Time to prove you’re a Pokémon Master!
Get ready for an all-new Pokémon trivia game show with a twist, broadcasting live.
On June 27, 2025, an all-new live show is coming to the Pokémon Twitch channel—the Gotta Catch ’Em All! Game Show, hosted by Brian David Gilbert, a writer, actor, and musician known for his work on Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake and his Unraveled video series for Polygon. As a Pokémon rapper and keeper of the facts, Brian joins us to lead three contestants through a multiple-choice trivia quiz with a twist: each question is paired with a Pokémon for a contestant to catch!
Answering trivia questions correctly will be the contestants’ test, and catching four victory Pokémon is their cause! That’s right—to win the game, players must answer questions and catch one of each of the four victory Pokémon: Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.
Including the four Victory Pokémon needed to win the game, our contestants will have the chance to collect a total of six Pokémon while they play, each with different One-Time Effects that can shake things up. Some Pokémon have supportive effects, benefiting the players and creating an advantage, while others are mischievous, using their effects to disrupt the game.
There’s also Magikarp, who can use Splash. That doesn’t do anything to affect the game, but we’re glad to see it so excited about trivia.

Get ready, Trainers! We’re giving you a closer look at our all-new live show, the Gotta Catch ’Em All! Game Show, hosted by the fantastic Brian David Gilbert!
In this video, we break down everything you need to know before the big premiere. Learn how our three contestants will face a trivia quiz with a twist: each correct answer lets them catch a Pokémon! Their ultimate test is to be the first to catch the four Victory Pokémon: Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.
Discover how strategy comes into play, as contestants can collect other Pokémon with powerful One-Time Effects. Some offer a helpful advantage, while others are more mischievous and can disrupt the game for opponents. And yes, you might even spot a Magikarp, who is just very excited to be here.
