Diamond Comic’s Vice President of Client Services Emily Botica is Leaving the Company
Things aren’t looking good for (new) Diamond. There’s been layoffs and numerous current staff are “open to work” based on LinkedIn. Emily Botica, Diamond’s Vice President of Client Services will be leaving the company “sometime next week” according to an email sent around and we’ve seen.
Botica has been with the company for 18 years and previously worked for Borders and marketing for Little Caesars. She joined Diamond as a Sales Manager in 2007 and worked her way up.
Since March 2025, Botica has also been freelancing with “Publishing consulting that includes; sales, marketing, and marketplace guidance with a focus on graphic novels and genre fiction.” Diamond declared Chapter 11 in January 2025.
It’s the latest exodus from the company that has been in turmoil since it was purchased by Ad Populum/Sparkle Pop during its bankruptcy. Staff and publisher clients have been exiting for other opportunities with a flood of complaints over the management of the company being voiced since the takeover.
