Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals now playable in Pokémon TCG Live

Collect cards from the latest expansion, enjoy Team Rocket–themed fun, and prepare for new Trainer Trials.

The latest Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion, Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals, is now playable in Pokémon Trading Card Game Live. This expansion includes Team Rocket’s Pokémon and more Trainer’s Pokémon, so you can join forces with heroic Trainers or reconsider your loyalties and fight alongside Team Rocket. When you log in, you’ll notice Pokémon TCG Live has a nefarious new look for a limited time, inspired by the glorious Team Rocket.

Regardless of where your allegiances lie, play in Ranked matches and earn special Team Rocket cosmetics. Equip them to show off your loyalty to Team Rocket!

Trainer Trials continue for Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals in Pokémon TCG Live, available in the Casual section of the home screen! This rotating selection of trials challenges you with unique deck-building restrictions for the cards that can be used and how they can be added to a deck. From Singleton Showdown—a Trial where you can only have a single copy of each card—to favorite formats like Gym Leader Challenge, there are plenty of ways to experiment with deck building in this expansion.

Trainer Trials rotate on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. PDT and typically last one or two weeks. Check out the full schedule of Trainer Trials below.

May 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PDT – June 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PDT: Aceless

  • Aceless is an alternate format using the Standard card pool. Only one copy of each card is allowed in your deck (excluding Basic Energy), and Pokémon with a Rule Box and ACE SPEC cards cannot be included.

June 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PDT – June 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PDT: Twin Battle

  • Twin Battle is an alternate format using the Standard card pool. In this format, every card must appear exactly twice in a deck (excluding Basic Energy).

June 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PDT – June 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PDT: Singleton Showdown

  • Singleton Showdown is an alternate format that uses the Standard card pool. In this format, your deck can only include one copy of each card (excluding Basic Energy).

June 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PDT – June 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PDT: Half-Year Havoc

  • Half-Year Havoc is an alternate format that allows only cards from expansions released in the past 6 months to be included in your deck, including reprints.

June 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PDT – July 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PDT: Gym Leader Challenge

  • Gym Leader Challenge is an alternate format that uses the Expanded card pool. In this format, each deck must include Pokémon of only a single type, Pokémon with a Rule Box are not allowed, and only one copy of each card is permitted.

From July 10, 2025 – July 17, 2025: Silver Series

  • Silver Series is an alternate format in which only common, uncommon, and rare cards (excluding Pokémon with a Rule Box) from the Scarlet & Violet Series can be used in a deck.
