FanArt Friday: An Enriching Experience with Pokémon

For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is delighted to showcase the spectacular illustrations created by the talented Alexandra, also known by her pseudonym Candy Samurai. This talented artist has participated in the first, second, fourth, fifth, and sixth generations of Pokédex Ilustrada, the extraordinary project organized by our dear friends from Ilustradoras Unidas.

For Alexandra, art is a way to escape from her daily life and envision the impossible in the ordinary.

This is so cool!😍✨

Her relationship with the Pokémon franchise is very special because it was her first introduction to drawing during childhood.

“Although I don’t draw Pokémon regularly, I always like to participate in projects related to the franchise, so I don’t drift away from what made me start drawing in the first place,” she revealed.

Participating in Pokémon-related projects like Pokédex Ilustrada is a “super enriching” experience for her because “you’re not forcing yourself to draw anything” and “everything is a project you enjoy and do with love, not out of obligation or just to comply.”

The sweetest depiction of Dunsparce ever created!🐻

Speaking of Pokémon, her favorite one is none other than the charming Eevee: “I’ve loved him since I played the games for the first time. I must say that it’s because he has always been pretty—even in the first game when most of the sprites were kind of ugly.”
