The Pokémon Company is continuing to reveal new content for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Read on below to learn more:
The EleSquirrel Pokémon and Mouse Pokémon partner up for electrifying results.
You might be familiar with the Pikachu ex from Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket’s Genetic Apex expansion, often seen running circle circuits around its opponents with its highly Energy-efficient damage output. The latest Pikachu ex from Shining Revelry is brewing up a different storm, though. Instead filling your Bench with -type Pokémon to hit hard and fast, you can deal massive damage with Pikachu ex’s Thunderbolt attack—but it’s at the cost of discarding all of Pikachu ex’s Energy attachments. That’s where Pachirisu comes in! The EleSquirrel’s Plasma attack provides early-game
Energy acceleration to quickly power up Pikachu ex and your other
-type Pokémon.

Game plan: Pikachu ex’s Thunderbolt attack deals a massive 150 damage, but because it requires discarding all of Pikachu ex’s Energy attachments when you use it, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to attack with it more than once in a game. That’s why you’ll want to focus on attaching Energy to Pikachu ex with Pachirisu’s Plasma attack during the early game. For those setup turns, split the
Energy you gain from Plasma and your Energy Zone between your Benched Pokémon—if you attach all your Energy to only one Pokémon, that’s trouble for you if it gets Knocked Out.

In certain cases, it might be difficult to use Pachirisu’s Plasma attack to setup, such as against a Druddigon that’ll throw damage back at Pokémon that damage it with an attack. In situations like these, try leaning on Electabuzz’s Thunder Spear attack to circumvent the Active Pokémon and damage your opponent’s Benched Pokemon. This’ll help with setting up for a Cyrus play, as well as chip away at high-HP Pokémon like Giratina ex, so Pikachu ex and Electivire (Electabuzz’s Evolution) can come in after and clean up with Knock Out hits.

Once you’re ready to start earning those Knock Outs, it’s up to Pikachu ex and Electivire. If you want to get more out of Pikachu ex’s high-cost Thunderbolt attack, you can use Red to bump the damage up to 170, which should be able to take down just about any Pokémon ex. Once you’ve discarded all your Energy from Pikachu ex, you can switch to Electivire and use Volkner to power it up. This Stage 1 Pokémon can do up to 120 damage, and with 120 HP, it can easily withstand attacks from other non-ex Pokémon. If you attach a Giant Cape to it, Electivire can even withstand a Chaotic Impact attack from Giratina ex!
Pachirisu is a key part of this deck strategy in the early game, so be sure to keep an eye out for a chance to collect one during the upcoming wonder pick event featuring Riolu and Pachirisu. During the event, you’ll have a chance to collect Pachirisu promo cards featuring new artwork as well as flair to add a bit of extra style to your cards.
Good luck using this shocking duo on your opponents, Trainers!
