Skybound, Image Comics, and Hasbro have announced the release of Transformers #1 Sound Chip Edition and Void Rivals #1 Sound Chip Edition. Both will be available fall 2025, just in time for the second-ever Transformers Day on September 17.
When the cover to each comic is opened, fans will hear the iconic Transformers Signature Sound of the bots shifting from robot to alt mode – or vice versa, with a different sound in Transformers #1 and in Void Rivals #1.
Void Rivals #1, from the iconic Oblivion Song team of Robert Kirkman and Lorenzo De Felici, memorably launched the shared Energon Universe with the surprise first appearance of iconic Transformers character Jetfire. The stealth launch served as an official introduction to the historic collaboration between Hasbro and Skybound.
Transformers #1 kicked off an all-new era for the iconic Transformers franchise from Daniel Warren Johnson and colorist Mike Spicer. Optimus Prime was supposed to have led the Autobots to victory. Instead, the fate of Cybertron is unknown, and his allies have crash-landed far from home, alongside their enemies—the Decepticons. As these titanic forces renew their war on Earth, one thing is immediately clear: the planet will never be the same. New alliances are struck. Battle lines are redrawn. Humanity’s only hope for survival is Optimus Prime.
Transformers #1 and Void Rivals #1 Sound Chip Editions (Lunar Codes Coming Soon | $19.99) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
