Off the Page Games will release Grendel: The Game of Crime and Mayhem, a new board game, in 2026.
The new board game, designed by Alara Cameron and Sen-Foong Lim, is based on Matt Wagner’s popular comic character (see “Matt Wagner Brings ‘Grendel’ Back to Dark Horse”). In the new board game, Grendel has killed off the leaders of the 23 most powerful crime families in the US, and now New York City is up for grabs. Players will fight for control of the city as one of four factions. Each faction features different game mechanics: The Police, Grendel, Argent, or The Mob. Only one faction can come out on top.
The game also has new art from the Matt Wagner. It is for two to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 30 minutes.
