As expected, Captain America: Brave New World took first place at the weekend box office. The film dropped 68.3% from the previous weekend, a number that’s about average for a blockbuster. It grossed an estimated $28.2 million to bring its domestic total to $141.2 million. Internationally, it grossed $55.8 million over the week to bring that total to $148.2 million for a worldwide gross of $289.4 million after two weeks.

In second place was The Monkey which grossed an estimated $14.2 million domestically with no international return.

Paddington in Peru slipped to third place with $6.5 million to bring its domestic total to $25.3 million. Over the week, the film grossed $9.2 million internationally to bring that to $125 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $150.3 million.

Dog Man held on to fourth place with $5.9 million to lift its domestic total to $78.8 million. Over the week, it grossed $8.5 million internationally where it has now grossed $26.2 million and just under $105 million worldwide.

Ne Zha 2 held on to fifth place with an estimated $4.4 million to bring its domestic gross to $14.9 million. Internationally it grossed $13.5 million for a worldwide total of $28.4 million.

In comic film news…

Kraven the Hunter domestically remains at a little over $25 million. Internationally, the movie remains at just under $37 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed just under $62 million after six weeks.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim held domestically at $9.2 million. Internationally the film remained at $11.3 million. The movie has grossed just $20.5 million.

Venom: The Last Dance remain at $139.8 million domestically. Internationally, it remained at $339.1 million. Worldwide, the movie has grossed $478.9 million.

Solo Leveling: Reawakening remained at $3.4 million domestically. Internationally it remained at just under $3 million for a worldwide total of a little over $6.3 million.

The week’s overall box office success…

Numbers have 37 films earning $79,226,674 from 34,253 theaters. That’s a a drop of near 50% from the previous weekend’s $154,024,172 from 32,307 theaters and 65 films. The average earning was $2,312.99 which is also a decrease from the previous weekend’s $4,767.52.
