Maestro Media unveiled 2001: A Space Odyssey – The Board Game, which will release on June 20, 2025.
2001: A Space Odyssey – The Board Game is based on Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 film where HAL 9000, an AI character, goes bad and tries to sabotage the Discovery One’s mission to Jupiter. In this game, players are thrust into a one versus many scenario where one player takes charge of HAL and the rest of the players try to shut it down. Each of the crew members on the ship has their own unique abilities to help shut down HAL as they try to complete three logic sequences in the HAL Core to save the mission.

The game is designed for three to five players, ages 10 and up, and will play in 30 minutes.
Maestro Media will also release a new Strawberry Shortcake card game in the property’s 45th anniversary year (see “‘Strawberry Shortcake’ Card Game“).
