First released in 2012, Wolf Children is a weird but surprisingly heartfelt tale about motherhood, loss, and family. The film tells the story of Hana, who falls in love with a werewolf, and eventually gives birth to two half-wolf children–but after her husband is tragically killed during a hunt, she moves from the busy city to an old house in the countryside to raise the children on her own.
Special features for this new Limited Edition Steelbook release have not yet been revealed, but if it inherits the bonus materials from the previous release, you can expect a commentary track from the cast and crew alongside promotional materials.
Wolf Children Manga And Books
Wolf Children has also been adapted into novelizations and manga written by Hosoda himself. The official English version of the Wolf Children manga is available for $18.36 (was $26), while the 176-page light novel is $20. You can also pick up the official Wolf Children anime art book, which ships to the US directly from Amazon Japan.
Summer Wars Limited Edition 4K-Blu Ray Preorders
Wolf Children isn’t the only Hosada film getting an Amazon-exclusive Blu-ray this year. The retail giant is also publishing a 4K Blu-ray edition of Hosada’s acclaimed Summer Wars on April 1. The film is a unique sci-fi tale about a young boy whose online VR persona is stolen and used to cause real-world disasters. The Limited Edition Steelbook 4K Blu-ray is available to preorder for $37 at Amazon, while preorders for the standard edition Blu-ray that also launches on April 1 are available for $27. Summer Wars also has an official manga adaptation, which you can pick up for just $20.54 (was $25).
