Massive Adds Lunar, Announces Massive Indies; TwoMorrows Switches to Lunar

There are multiple distribution moves happening in the wake of the Diamond Comic Distributors Chapter 11 filing, and we round up the latest here. Two other recent moves include Mad Cave Studios’ move to Lunar (see “Mad Cave Studios Moves to Lunar Distribution“), and BOOM! Studios’ acceleration of its move to Penguin Random House (see “BOOM! Accelerates“).

Massive Publishing has added Lunar Distribution to its distributor roster, and announced Massive indies, a new sub-distribution program.  The new distribution relationship with Lunar will kick off with orders placed in February.  Lunar joins Diamond Comic Distributors as a direct market distributor.  Massive titles area distributed to the book trade by Simon & Schuster.

Massive Indies, the company’s new sub-distribution program for independent publishers and self-published studios, is an open platform for publishers to submit titles for possible inclusion as a Massive Indies title in the Lunar catalog.  Massive will prioritize publishers affected by the Diamond Chapter 11 filing.   Publishers in the program will retain control over their publishing lines.

“Our new partnership with Lunar is a reflection of our mutual commitment to comic book retailers and has the potential to be a game-changer for the way creators get their work out into the world,” Massive Publisher Co-Publisher Kevin Roditeli said in a statement accompanying the announcement.

TwoMorrows Publishing is moving its direct market distribution to Lunar Distribution, effective immediately, the companies announced.  All orders for new TwoMorrows products through Diamond Comic Distributors will be canceled.  Orders for February and March releases, including Alter Ego #192, RetroFan #37, and Back Issue #158, will have a FOC date at Lunar of February 10 for a February 26 street date.  Other titles will be solicited for release in April and beyond via Lunar’s March 2025 Next Phase catalog (#39).

TwoMorrows titles will continue to be distributed to the book trade by Diamond Book Distributors, and orders for Offered Again titles in Diamond Previews catalog through February will be fulfilled by Diamond.

“For over 30 years, we’ve had a wonderfully devoted fan base for our publications, and have enjoyed a great working relationship with Diamond Comic Distributors during that time,” TwoMorrows Publisher John Morrow said.  “But due to their bankruptcy, we’ve had to absorb substantial losses for payments owed on our late 2024 and early 2025 releases.  While I fervently hope Diamond can recover from this, our new agreement with Lunar is not just our most secure option to keep producing and getting our products into customers’ hands, it’s also ripe with new opportunities to better service comic retailers, and market our products more effectively”
