A Message from the Pokémon Masters EX Team (Vol. 71)

Greetings, Trainers.

I’m Tetsuya Iguchi, general producer of Pokémon Masters EX, here with a new message for you.
Today, we’ll focus on details about new content, events beginning around the end of January, and the new Sync Pairs that will debut.

New Content: Trainer Gyms!

We’re excited to announce that the feature that lets players interact with each other and work together, which we mentioned in our last message and our five-year anniversary message, is now available!
Today, we’ll give you an overview of this feature, which we’re calling Trainer Gyms.

Trainer Gyms

In this new feature, players can form groups called Trainer Gyms, which other players can join and interact with each other in.
To be part of a gym, you must either establish your own or join another player’s.

Each player is free to establish their own Trainer Gym. When doing so, you can select a gym icon (a Trainer) and gym focuses, including types, regions, and play styles.
When you want to join another player’s gym, you can find gyms by using search conditions, so try joining a gym that suits you.

In a Trainer Gym, you can use Gym Emotes, set phrases, and photos to communicate with other members of the same gym. Try interacting with your fellow members!
There’s a wide selection of Trainer-based Gym Emotes that can be used in interactions. Starting January 28, 2025 at 10:00 p.m., you’ll be able to purchase gems that come with Gym Emote presents via Shop > Purchase Gems.
There’s also a lineup of Daily Specials, which feature a random selection of items available that day. Plus there are Featured items, which go on sale for specific periods of time. So be sure to check out the Shop.

In addition to interactions, there are also ways for gym members to work together to earn rewards, such as the Group Log-In Bonus, which grants rewards based on the number of members who logged in to the gym the previous day. We hope you’ll try working together with fellow members to make your gym a success.

Next, we’ll tell you about Gym Ranks and seasons, which will be the main ways gym members can work together when the Trainer Gyms feature is released.

Seasons are periods of time that begin on the 1st of each month, and Gym Ranks are determined by the number of Gym Points earned cumulatively by all gym members up to the end of a season.
Once a season is complete, all gym members will receive Gym Rank Rewards based on the Gym Rank their gym reached.
Gym Ranks are determined each season, so we hope you’ll do your best to reach a high Gym Rank each time. Please note that the first season will last from January 31, 2025 at 10:00 p.m. to February 24, 2025 at 9:59 p.m.

Gym Points can be earned primarily by completing exclusive Gym Missions called Group Missions that are held during the season.
Group Missions are missions that progress based on things such as the number of days each member logs in to the gym and the number of times they interact in the Trainer Lodge, so the key to completing these missions is for members to work together as a community.

In addition, members will also have Solo Missions, which progress in similar ways to the Group Missions. As each gym member makes progress in their Solo Missions, they’ll also contribute to the overall progress of the Group Missions.

Each member can earn Gym Coins by completing Solo Missions.
Gym Coins can be exchanged at the Gym Exchange for rewards such as Custom Superawakening Candies or Tickets for a special Sync Pair Scout.

We hope you’ll try earning Gym Coins by completing Solo Missions and work with your fellow gym members to complete Group Missions!

As the special Sync Pair Scout we mentioned above, the Gym Scout A will be added on January 28, 2025 at 10:00 p.m.

Grusha & Beartic, Brock & Kabutops, and Winona & Altaria will be featured, so we hope you try to team up with them!
Please note that a Gym Scout Ticket A, which you can get from the Gym Exchange, is needed to use this Scout.

Other App Updates for Late January

A New Guest Arrives in the Trainer Lodge

Starting January 31, 2025, you’ll be able to invite Diantha to the Trainer Lodge as a Guest!
To invite Diantha, you’ll need to team up with Diantha & Gardevoir first.
You can team up with Diantha & Gardevoir via the Monthly Poké Fair Scout that will begin on January 31, 2025, so be sure to invite her once you’ve teamed up with this Sync Pair.

Story Event Tiny Courage, Big Thanks

Story EventTiny Courage, Big Thanks will begin on January 30, 2025.
It’s Palentine’s Day on Pasio.
With Erika’s support, Marley decides to give a bouquet of flowers to Elesa and Marnie, who had given her courage in the past.
Then, a Pokémon that senses feelings of gratitude appears before them…
We hope you enjoy it!

You can receive items called letters by completing Missions.
By using these letters, you’ll unlock special stories and receive gifts of thanks from Marley and Erika.
We hope you’ll check out these stories and see what’s in store.

Marley (Palentine’s 2025) & Shaymin

Marley (Palentine’s 2025) & Shaymin are a Grass-type Sprint Sync Pair. Their EX Role is Support!
The first time they create Sinnoh Circle (Special), one of their Passive Skills will reduce their Sync Move countdown by three and raise their Sp. Atk by four stat ranks.
Their Blessed Seed Flare Buddy Move can be activated each time their Sync Move countdown is reduced by three. It can attack all opponents without its power being lowered, and successful hits with it become critical hits (except in certain circumstances). It also lowers the target’s Sp. Def by two stat ranks and increases all allies’ Special Moves ↑ Next effect by one rank!
In addition, their Thanks…! Trainer Move applies the Move Gauge Acceleration effect to the allied field of play and raises all allies’ Speed by four stat ranks, allowing them to support their team as well.

Erika (Palentine’s 2025) & Lurantis

Erika (Palentine’s 2025) & Lurantis are a Grass-type Tech Sync Pair. Their EX Role is Strike!
Their Profusion of Flowers Energy Ball Buddy Move can be activated when their Sp. Atk is raised and grants different effects based on how many MP remain for their Lum Berry. For example, if the remaining MP for Lum Berry is three, this attack powers up by 400%, lowers the target’s Sp. Atk and Sp. Def by three stat ranks, and restores Erika (Palentine’s 2025) & Lurantis’s HP by approximately 30% of their maximum HP, which means that Lum Berry’s remaining MP is vital for this Sync Pair.
Their remaining MP for Lum Berry will be reduced to zero by using their Buddy Move one time, but one of their Passive Skills can restore one MP for Lum Berry when successfully attacking with their Leaf Storm Move!
Plus, when their stats would get lowered, another Passive Skill of theirs raises their stats by the same amount instead and increases their Special Moves ↑ Next effect by one rank, so try using their Leaf Storm Move to restore MP for Lum Berry and unleash their powerful Buddy Move over and over!

Other Events and Updates

Early February will see the return of Story Event Victor’s Cooking Class! starring Victor and Candice, as well as a new Legendary Gauntlet, and an Ultimate Battle addition.
Additionally, we’re planning a Special Battle Event starting mid-February, where you’ll form teams with specific Themes, as well as the Special Event Celebration One-Time-Only Fair-Exclusive Guaranteed Scout, which can be used with Non-paid Gems, so we hope you check them out.

Plus, Special Sync Pair Event Sweet and Fancy, which lets you team up with Main Character & Alcremie, will return. To commemorate this return, one new kind of Alcremie will be added, so we hope you look forward to it.

The Run-Up to 5.5 Years Celebration Is Coming to Pokémon Masters EX!

Pokémon Masters EX will soon reach the five-and-a-half-year mark since launch.
We’re truly grateful for your support.
As part of the Run-Up to 5.5 Years Celebration, various Rallies will begin on February 16, 2025, including a Log-in Bonus and a 10-Pair Scout that can be used at no cost.
On top of that, two new Master Fair-exclusive Sync Pairs are scheduled to arrive!
We hope you look forward to it!

Next, here’s some advance information on the improvements planned for our 5.5 Year Celebration.
Up to now, you’ve needed to play through Villain Events in order for the Sync Pairs you can team up with from the Main Story’s Legendary Adventures to be raised to 6★ EX and upgraded, but we plan to change how you can obtain the necessary items so that you can upgrade these Sync Pairs whenever you want.
More details will be available in an announcement during the 5.5 Year Celebration, so we hope you’ll take a look.

What to Expect in the Next Message

Our next message is scheduled for late February. In it, we plan to share information about new Sync Pairs and events for March.

We’re always working hard to deliver updates and improvements that make the world of Pokémon Masters EX as fun as possible.

We prioritize Trainers’ feedback throughout the development process, so don’t hesitate to let us know what you think.
Until next time, thank you for playing Pokémon Masters EX.
