Play to Z will release Ascending Empires: Zenith Edition, an updated version of the science fiction board game, into retail on February 5, 2025.
Ascending Empires: Zenith Edition was originally announced back in May 2023 (see “‘Ascending Empires’“), headed to market via WizKids. When Zev Shlasinger parted ways with Wizkids in June 2023 (see “Parts Ways with WizKids“) and formed Play to Z (see “All-Stars Launch Play to Z“), Ascending Empires went along for the ride. Almost two years later, the new Zenith Edition of the game will finally hit stores.
The new edition will feature upgraded components, including a new neoprene starfield game mat. New game elements include specialty starships, technology trees, discovery tokens, mission cards, and more. It supports one to four players, ages 10 and up, and plays 60 to 90 minutes. MSRP will be $140.
