Pokémon GO Fashion Week: Taken Over event now underway until January 19 at 8 p.m. local time, Shroodle, Grafaiai and Shadow Palkia now available for the first time

Niantic is continuing to announce new events and content for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:

Wednesday, January 15, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time

Pokémon Debuts

The Toxic Mouse Pokémon, Shroodle, and its Evolution, Grafaiai, will make their Pokémon GO debuts!

Starting with this event, Shroodle will be available to hatch from 12 km Eggs.

*You can use 50 Shroodle Candy to evolve Shroodle into Grafaiai.

Event Bonuses

  • Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
  • You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

Surprise Encounters

Smile! You might have a surprise encounter with Croagunk wearing a fashion week costume when you take a snapshot during the event!

Save Shadow Palkia!

Special Research will be unlocked at the beginning of this event. Progress through it to receive a Super Rocket Radar and chase down Giovanni!

You can claim this Special Research until the end of Pokémon GO: Dual Destiny on March 4, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time.

Team GO Rocket Grunts—and their leaders Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo—are using different Shadow Pokémon.

Team GO Rocket has also turned the following Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon. Defeat Team GO Rocket Grunts to save them!

Shadow Bunnelby

Pokémon rescued from Team GO Rocket Grunts may be Shiny Pokémon—if you’re lucky.

For the first time in Pokémon GO, Remote Raid Passes can be used to participate in Shadow Raids during the event.

Pokémon caught via one-star and three-star Shadow Raids during the event will have a wider variance of Attack, Defense, and HP.

Pokémon caught via five-star Shadow Raids during the event may have higher Attack, Defense, and HP.

*If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!

Field Research Task Rewards

Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available! Field Research rewards include the following.

  • Mysterious Components
  • Charged TMs
  • Fast TMs

Collection Challenge

An event-themed Collection Challenge is coming!

Complete a catch-focused Collection Challenge to receive Stardust and an encounter with Trubbish.

PokéStop Showcases

Be on the lookout for Showcases at different PokéStops where you can enter event-themed Pokémon!
