Shape the Destinies of World Superpowers in ‘Imperial 2030’

Rio Grande Games will release Imperial 2030, a new economic strategy game, into retail in January 2025.

Imperial 2030 is a standalone game based on the rules of Imperial by Mac Gerdts, who also designed the acclaimed board game Concordia (see “2014 ‘Spiel des Jahres’ Nominations“). In the original game, players attempted to influence the destinies of old imperial nations (Austria-Hungary, Italy, France, Great Britain, the German Empire, and Russia) as investors. These nations would take turns battling over resources and land all while the players used their investments to gain political advantages.

In the new game, the six empires have become six powers in the modern age: USA, Europe, Russia, China, India, and Brazil. The nations now battle each other over control of neutral land and sea areas in an effort to become the top superpower in the world. Players strive to control governments by becoming the largest investor in that nation, and try to get the best rate of return on their efforts. In the end, the richest investor wins the game.

This game is for two to six players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 120 minutes.
