Vampires, Demons, and monsters…oh my! The Cursed Dead is a new Kickstarter that aims to populate your 1:12 collection full of creepy crawly creatures. I have plenty of Blade figures, but barely any vampires for him to fight, so I know I’m in for a few of these blood suckers at the very least!
These figures are brought to you by toy industry vets including Sculptor Phil Ramirez, Adam Van Wickler, and Josh Falcon. The Kickstarter offerings are in two categories, basic figures at $40 and Deluxe at $85. The highlight for my money for the basic figures is the very Noferatu-y Drinkers. Armed with three sets of hands and three heads, this is a great army builder for Blade to battle and would work into the Monster Force line nicely as well. These kind of monster-vamps need to bite and claw, so I’m glad they come with heads showing off the fangs and sharp looking talons.
The Basic Demons and Djinn would also be nice army builders for your mystic heroes like Ghostrider, Hellstrom, or Doc Nocturnal to fight.
The deluxe figures have more parts and pieces and clothing options. This base body is really thin, so I feel like they would work great with a lot of soft goods customizing pieces. I fell in love with the Wendigo at SDCC, so he’s my must have from this group, but the Fly monster and the creepy as hell Christmas Krankle came out of nowhere to grab me by the collar and demand that I buy. I love the variety of monsters they are getting out of this base body and hope a Jersey Devil is in the offing at some point.
The Kickstarter is live now here, so go give it a look and pledge if you have interest. It’s a pretty short campaign, ending 2/1/25 and they also have some stretch goals in reserve, so if you want to buy, the earlier you pledge the better.
