Official Pokémon TCG Pocket strategy revealed for Gyarados ex and Vaporeon

The Pokémon Company is continuing to reveal new content for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Read on below to learn more:

Energy swirls around this potent Water-type deck.

Apowerful Water-type deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket lets you continue to attack in waves until Gyarados ex is ready to rise from the deep. Have Starmie ex keep up the water pressure with its Hydro Splash attack until you have a total of four Energy on the board. Then utilize Starmie ex’s zero Retreat cost to get Gyarados ex into the Active Spot. Finally, use Vaporeon’s Wash Out Ability to move any Energy on your Benched Pokémon to Gyarados ex so it can do a flood of damage with Rampaging Whirlpool!

2× Staryu (Mythical Island)
2× Magikarp (Mythical Island)
2× Starmie ex (Mythical Island)
2× Gyarados ex (Mythical Island)
2× Vaporeon (Mythical Island)
2× Eevee (Mythical Island)
1× X Speed (Promo)
2× Poke Ball (Promo)
2× Professor’s Research (Mythical Island)
1× Sabrina (Mythical Island Charizard)
2× Leaf (Mythical Island)

For the most part, Vaporeon is just there for its Ability, but don’t sleep on its potential value in the Active Spot. If Starmie ex is in peril of getting Knocked Out and Gyarados ex isn’t ready to make waves, go ahead and swap Vaporeon in for a turn. Its attack isn’t that strong, which can actually be a benefit if you’re up against the popular Mew ex and its crafty Genome Hacking attack. When you’re ready, use Leaf to retreat Vaporeon for free. In this sense, all of your Pokémon are capable of doing damage while absorbing incoming attacks. Just keep moving them around, not letting any of them get Knocked Out, and strike when you’re able.

Alternate cards: Misty is a powerful card for accelerating Energy, so you can consider adding it to this deck. It’s more consistent without her, but she can help get things going a little faster with a bit of luck.

Try out this deck for yourself to unleash the might of Gyarados ex!
