Marvel has announced a new X-Men title, Weapon X-Men, by writer Joe Casey and artist ChrisCross, that will feature a tough-guy lineup of Wolverine, Deadpool, Cable, Chamber, and Thunderbird. The series will kick off as part of the One World Under Doom event, with the newly assembled team heading off to Latveria on a high-stakes rescue mission; the team will go on to face a variety of old and new enemies as the series continues. The extra-long first issue will be released on February 19, 2025, with cover art by Alex Ross.
“Weapon X-Men is going to be dangerous, unpredictable and classic all at the same time,” Casey said in a statement accompanying the announcement.
Ultimate Wolverine, the latest title in Marvel’s Ultimate universe, will launch in January (see “Marvel Announces ‘Ultimate Wolverine’”).
