R.I.P. Amber Cook

Games industry veteran Amber Cook passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2024.

Cook was a key player within the games industry, mostly working behind-the-scenes on the branding and business development of dozens of games and projects.  She is well-known for her work at Looney Labs, Asmodee Group, and Roll20.  Cook was also admired for the roles she played in the re-launch of Free RPG Day, as a founding member of the American Tabletop Awards, as the fundraising co-chair for Rose Gauntlet Foundation, and in the rebranding of her partner Paul Alexander Butler’s store Games and Stuff (see “The Merchant’s Anvil“).

She leaves behind a son, James.  Paul Alexander Butler, Nicole Hoye, and Jayme Marie Boucher have organized  a GoFundMe to help go towards his education, medical expenses, emergency funds, and daily necessities.  If you wish to contribute, please click on the following link.  ICv2 offers its heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of Amber Cook.
