‘Magic: The Gathering’ in 2025

Wizards of the Coast released information on its 2025 schedule for Magic: The Gathering, including set names, art, and release dates, at MagicCon in Las Vegas this weekend.  Themes were revealed in August (see “WotC Teases 2025 Themes”).

First up is Innistrad Remastered, which will street a little later than previous January sets (see “Hasbro CEO Reveals”) on January 24, with Premium Preview Events from January 17-23.  The set will feature a Headliner card, a single card from the set that has been illustrated, foiled, and sometimes even serialized.  The Headliner card in this set is Edgar Markov.  Headliner cards will also be a feature in future sets.

Aetherdrift, the first Standard-legal set of the year, will street on February 14 with game store Prereleases on February 7.  The set features Chandra Nalaar racing through the Omenpaths and across three planes of the Multiverse.

Magic: The Gathering – Final Fantasy, a tentpole booster, will be released on June 13.  It will feature favorite characters, including Cloud, Terra, Lightning, and Noctis, and summons, monsters, and rivals from across the Final Fantasy series, including every Final Fantasy game released to date up through Final Fantasy XVI. Art for the set is from Magic artists, classic art from Final Fantasy artists, and new pieces made specifically for this set.

Tarkir: Dragonstorm will be released on August 1.  In this set, the five resurgent clans of Tarkir strike back against dragons whose every wing flap rips through the Omenpaths.  Sarkhan Vol and Ugin return in this set.

Edge of Eternities was given no release date.  This is a science fiction set in which Magic goes beyond the known Muiltiverse to the advanced technology of the Sothera system.

Magic: The Gathering – Marvel’s Spider-Man will arrive in late 2025.  This is the second product line from the new Marvel license for Magic: The Gathering

One additional 2025 title, a Universes Beyond release, was flagged but not announced at the event.

Wizards of the Coast also announced that it will return to listing MSRPs for Magic: The Gathering products beginning with its November release (see “WotC Returns to MSRPs“)
