One of the more popular manga series of the 2010s, Tokyo Ghoul follows the main character Ken Kaneki after he barely survives a run-in with a ghoul, man-eating monsters that look and mostly act like regular humans. With the organs of his would-be killer implanted into him after a freak accident, Kaneki finds himself caught in the middle of an ongoing war between humans and ghouls in this grisly series. Struggling to accept his new life and cursed with an insatiable hunger for human flesh, Kaneki soon finds himself hunted by powerful forces.

The second box set contains all of the Tokyo Ghoul:re manga chapters. This is a sequel series set two years after the first manga, and it introduced a brand-new cast of characters to the franchise. Both series were written and illustrated by Sui Ishida, who crafted a dark fantasy series set in a metropolitan world. The art does an incredible job of selling you on the ideas of this series, with several sequences being notable for the decadent amount of line art in each panel.

While it’s not quite as visually impactful as the manga, the Tokyo Ghoul anime series is a pretty good adaptation overall. All 48 episodes are being collected into a new Blu-ray box set that’s available to preorder now. If you do decide to get both of the Tokyo Ghoul manga box sets, that makes your B1G1 50% off choice easy.

But as mentioned above, several other notable manga box sets are eligible for B1G1 50% off. There’s not too much available right now, but there are several notable inclusions: Chainsaw Man’s Box Set (11 volumes), Demon Slayer’s Complete Box Set (23 volumes), and the first 20 volumes of My Hero Academia.
