Pokémon GO Halloween 2024 Part 1 event featuring the debuts of Morpeko, Dynamax Gastly and more now underway worldwide until October 28 at 10 a.m. local time, Niantic now offering chance to win Gengar backpack avatar item

Niantic is continuing to announce new events and content for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:

Creep it real this Halloween with Lavender Town–inspired music, thrilling Max Battles, and more.

Pokémon GO’s Halloween 2024 Part I event is running from October 22, at 10:00 a.m. to October 28, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time, and it promises a ghastly good time! Trainers might want to keep a close eye on their Berries during the event—the Two-Sided Pokémon, Morpeko, is making its debut, and it looks hangry! Morpeko can switch between Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode when battling Team GO Rocket or competing in the GO Battle League. In Full Belly Mode, Morpeko knows the Electric-type Charged Attack Aura Wheel, and in Hangry Mode, Morpeko knows the Dark-type Charged Attack Aura Wheel. Starting with this event, Morpeko will be available as a reward encounter in the GO Battle League.

In addition to catching mo’ Morpeko, this year’s Halloween event will feature a Lavender Town–inspired remix playing at nighttime, event-themed Pokémon appearing in the wild, opportunities to participate in Max Battles, and plenty of eerie-sistible research! Trick or treat yourself to event bonuses including an increased chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better, double Candy for catching Pokémon, and an increased chance of encountering Shiny Umbreon in raids and Shiny Zorua in the wild.

Keep an eye out for these event-themed Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild throughout the event.

Go ghost-hunting for Spiritomb and its 108 spirits with free event-themed Timed Research or complete Field Research tasks to earn encounters with Sableye, Spiritomb, Scraggy, Golett, Sandygast, Morpeko, Nymble, and Greavard, as well as Mega Energy for Gengar, Houndoom, Sableye, Banette, and Absol.

Two Paid Timed Research tickets will be available during the event. For US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), the Halloween 2024: Spiritomb Challenge Timed Research includes rewards such as 3× Candy for catching Pokémon; encounters with event-themed costumed Pokémon, including Froakie wearing a Pokémon Halloween costume, Rowlet wearing Pokémon Halloween costume, and Pikachu wearing a witch hat; encounters with Spiritomb and Morpeko; and a Morpeko Onesie avatar item in either Full Belly Mode or Hangry Mode, depending on which branching path you choose!

Additionally, the Costume Party Premium Timed Research ticket will be available for US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) and offers reward encounters that include Pikachu wearing a witch hat, Vulpix wearing a Spooky Festival costume, Gengar wearing a Spooky Festival costume, Piplup wearing a Halloween Mischief costume, Drifblim wearing a Halloween Mischief costume, Froakie wearing a Pokémon Halloween costume, Pumpkaboo wearing a Spooky Festival costume, and Rowlet wearing a Pokémon Halloween costume.

Paid Timed Research tasks must be completed and their rewards claimed by Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Pokémon Debut

Morpeko will make its Pokémon GO debut!

Morpeko will charge into Pokémon GO, changing the way you battle! Certain Pokémon—like Morpeko—will be able to change form in battle each time it uses a Charged Attack, unleashing new possibilities for you and your battle team.

Initially, Morpeko will only be able to change forms when battling Team GO Rocket or in the GO Battle League.

Morpeko will know the Charged Attack Aura Wheel (Electric) while it is in Full Belly Mode.

GO Battle League

Starting with this event, you can find Morpeko in reward encounters throughout the Season in the GO Battle League!

During the event, Morpeko will be encountered more frequently in the premium track of the GO Battle League.

After the event, starting at Rank 16 in the GO Battle League, Morpeko will be encountered in both GO Battle League reward tracks, but more frequently in the premium track.

Max Battles

Dynamax Gastly will make its Pokémon GO Dynamax debut in one-star Max Battles!

A remix of the Lavender Town music will be playing nightly during this year’s Halloween event. Turn up your in-game sound to feel like you’re taking a stroll through Lavender Town!
