Greater Than Games has revealed that Defenders of the Realm: Legends Edition will launch on November 19th via BackerKit. This miniatures-based adventure game allows players to work together to defend Monarch City from various enemies and four key bosses.
Players can choose to play as heroes such as Fera the Barbarian, Samil the Ranger, Vitalia the Rogue, and Krohl the Mage. Each character comes with distinct abilities to help protect the city from an advancing army of minions, including goblins, skeletons, cultists, and imps. The game’s four main bosses—Gri the Goblin King, Sapphire the Enduring Cold, Azzoz the Accursed, and Dianara the Lich Queen—are intent on overcoming the city’s defenses and taking control of the realm.
The Legends Edition introduces several updates, including individual decks for each hero, a new day/night cycle, simultaneous turns, and modified spawning rules for enemy forces. The game’s mechanics have been revised with the input of designer Richard Launius, known for Fate of the Elder Gods, offering updated gameplay while retaining the core elements of the original.
The game includes over 100 miniatures, ranging from heroes and bosses to minions and city structures. Players will need to strategically plan their moves during the day phase to hold off enemies and prepare for the bosses’ advances during the night.
The BackerKit campaign for Defenders of the Realm: Legends Edition is set to go live on November 19th. Greater Than Games will provide additional updates and previews on their blog as the launch approaches.
