For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is honored to display the beautiful illustrations of the gifted Paolo Rossi (rchross). This incredible artist participated in the fourth generation of Pokédex Ilustrada, the ambitious project organized by our talented friends of Ilustradoras Unidas.
Paolo confessed to the Pokémon Blog Team that he doesn’t really like the word “art,” but sees it as a reflection of the person who uses it to express their feelings or preferences.
“I like to paint forests because I find them peaceful and beautiful,” he said.
“I loved watching the Pokémon anime and movies when I was a child, especially ‘Pokémon the Movie 2000: The Power of One,’” he said. “Then I discovered the games, which I spent many hours playing. I’ve played almost all of them, including Pokémon Yellow.“
Paolo enjoys creating fan art of the things he loves and uploading it to YouTube with background music that matches the theme of each piece.
“It relaxes me, and it’s like leaving a memory of something I enjoy,” he shared.
Umbreon is Paolo’s favorite Pokémon.
“Black 2 and White 2 were the first Pokémon games I had for my Nintendo 3DS, and I had the opportunity to raise an Umbreon in those games. He was very strong in competitive matches, often defeating three Pokémon on his own. I also had a Shiny version, and my sister gave me a plushie of Shiny Umbreon.”
