Historica Arcanum: Echoes of Renaissance Brings 16th Century Venice and New 5E Mechanics to Kickstarter

Historica Arcanum: Echoes of Renaissance, the latest setting in the Historica Arcanum TTRPG series, is now live on Kickstarter. This new expansion is set in Venice in 1521, during the Grand Carnival, where political intrigue and conflict unfold in the shadows. The setting highlights tensions between the Medicis, the Borgias, and the Venetian Republic, while naval forces prepare to face the Barbarossa brothers in the Mediterranean.

The project introduces new gameplay elements, including the Deck of Legendary Inspirations, which offers class-specific rewards for players. These inspirations provide both mechanical and narrative enhancements, going beyond traditional mechanics like re-rolls. The deck includes 20 cards per class and will be available as both rollable tables and a physical card deck.

Additionally, the expansion features the Art of War, a new combat mechanics system for 5E. This system allows players to utilize a variety of battle strategies inspired by historical and fantasy fighting styles. It includes alternate attacks, actions, and reactions, such as half-swording and shield bashes. The Art of War will be included in the setting guide and as a deck of reference cards.

The Kickstarter campaign has surpassed its funding goal, with $110,798 pledged by 751 backers. The campaign will continue until November 8.
