Mad Cave Studios Donates $10,000 for Hurricane Helene Relief

Florida-based comic and graphic novel publisher Mad Cave Studios has donated $10,000 to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation to support comic and book retailers impacted by Hurricane Helene.  In its announcement, Mad Cave noted stores closed in St. Petersburg, Asheville, and Black Mountain due to water damage and power outages, and the countless other bookstores and comic shops in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas and beyond facing critical challenges.

“This donation will help provide immediate relief to retailers facing unforeseen financial and medical hardships caused by the disaster,” the company said in its announcement.

Binc had already begun to receive calls for help early last week, with 15 contacts as of Tuesday morning and many retailers unable to communicate at that point due to cell phone and power outages.  Macmillan Publishers agreed to match the first $10,000 in donations (see “Binc Gears Up to Help Retailers“).
