Hit Point Press Launches Card-Based Roguelike RPG One Last Fight on Kickstarter

Hit Point Press has unveiled One Last Fight, a GM-less, roguelike card-based roleplaying game now live on Kickstarter. In this narrative-driven RPG, 1-4 players collaborate to defeat their final Nemesis in a series of escalating challenges, or face defeat themselves. The game centers around storytelling, where players create their characters’ backstories and the history of their Nemesis, embarking on a perilous journey filled with both physical and personal challenges.

One Last Fight places a strong emphasis on narrative flexibility and replayability. Each session is unique, as players choose from multiple characters and nemeses, using storytelling prompts and questions that shape the plot as they progress. The game’s structure is designed to provide variety with each playthrough, as players build a deck of Challenge and Moment cards to guide the narrative. This approach ensures that no two sessions unfold the same way, offering a fresh experience each time players take on their Nemesis.

As the story unfolds, players navigate through a gauntlet of challenges, ranging from the approach to their Nemesis, to encounters within the Nemesis’ lair, and finally, a climactic showdown. The game’s mechanics allow for a dynamic and immersive experience, where the difficulty can be adjusted to suit the group’s preferences. Between the challenges, Moment cards offer opportunities for players to pause and engage in roleplaying scenes that further develop their characters’ relationships and backgrounds. The use of equipment and loot is key to success, adding an additional layer of strategy as players face increasingly difficult obstacles.

One Last Fight combines cooperative storytelling with a sense of urgency, as players must overcome every challenge thrown their way to reach the final battle. Whether the Nemesis is defeated or the players meet their demise, the game’s focus on crafting a compelling, collaborative story is at its core.

The Kickstarter campaign for One Last Fight has already garnered support, raising over $103,921 from 1,360 backers with 28 days remaining until the campaign ends on October 31.
