For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is honored to feature the pieces of the amazing Nachi (nachii_chann). This gifted and creative designer participated in the beautiful project “Pokémon Fan: Dibuja Tu Equipo Soñado,” organized by our dear friends from Ilustradoras Unidas to commemorate the First Anniversary of FanArt Friday.
“Art is a way to express my emotions. Being able to communicate my ideas through it and share this small gift I have with others are things that I’ve always enjoyed,” Nachi revealed.
Pokémon defined her childhood because it was the anime series she watched the most while growing up: “As I recall, Pokémon was the first franchise I became a fan of; it kickstarted my love and admiration for manga and anime.”
For Nachi, illustrating Pokémon means fulfilling one of her childhood dreams.
“Seeing myself as a character in my favorite childhood anime with my own Pokémon team is something I’ve imagined for a long time,” she shared.
“Charizard will always be my favorite Pokémon by far. This Pokémon shaped my childhood because of the idea of seeing a dragon-like creature in the anime series I loved. I love dragons. I’ve always loved dragons. They’ve always captured my attention. Charizard inspired my drawings for a long time, and that’s why I included him in my Dream Team,” she concluded.
