Little Dusha has launched MIR – Oath, a new dark fantasy roleplaying game, on Kickstarter. The game places players in the role of agents of the ancient organization known as MIR (МИP in Cyrillic), tasked with protecting reality from Echoes—manifestations of past trauma that distort the world. These agents must confront these Echoes, prevent their destructive potential, and protect the fragile balance of reality.
Set in a world scarred by a catastrophic event called The Ruin, the game explores themes of moral ambiguity and political intrigue. Once a powerful and respected organization, the MIR has become marginalized, and its agents now navigate a world where they are no longer trusted, all while the threat of the Ruin’s return looms.
The setting of MIR – Oath spans various nations within the Pact, each with a dark past and unique curse, or Stigmata, that adds depth to the story. Players will encounter societies such as the Systerin Empire, ruled by a god-emperor, and the Readarn Confederacy, shrouded in eternal darkness. As agents of the MIR, players must uncover the secrets of these nations while confronting the Echoes that threaten reality.
MIR – Oath introduces a D12 system that emphasizes narrative dilemmas and the consequences of player choices. Investigations are central to the game, where players will interact with various factions, negotiate for support, and face moral challenges. The game’s Intrigue system allows for political maneuvering, but every decision comes with a cost.
Combat is a significant aspect of gameplay, and while agents possess powerful abilities, they are not invincible. Characters can suffer permanent injuries that impact their performance throughout the game. Players also have access to forbidden Arts, which allow them to manipulate reality but come with the risk of corruption.
The MIR: Oath Discovery Book is a 160-page rulebook enclosed in a three-panel screen, offering an immersive and cohesive design. A collector’s edition is available, featuring a black velvet cover with gold detailing, accompanied by a soundtrack titled In the Shadow of Glory. This music, composed to enhance the atmosphere of the game, includes over an hour of content designed to complement the dark fantasy setting.
MIR – Oath has already successfully met its goal on Kickstarter, with over $28,00 pledged against a goal of $11,174, supported by 193 backers. The campaign runs until October 20.
