Just in time for Halloween, Tokyopop has announced new editions of two of its previously published Nightmare Before Christmas titles. Both are rated for all ages.
Disney Manga: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero’s Journey collects the full series, by D.J. Milky, Ken Ishiyama, and others as a deluxe hardcover. The story of Jack Skellington’s ghost dog was originally released as a 20-issue comic series and then as four paperback volumes, all in color (see “Tokyopop Reveals Plans for NBX”), then the complete story was collected into a black and white manga in 2020. The hardcover is the first complete collection in color, and Tokyopop is formatting it in a 6.6” x 10” “collector’s edition” size with new cover art by Ishiyama. The 416-page hardcover will be released on October 8, 2024, with an MSRP of $49.99.
Disney Manga: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Full Color Manga Edition is a new edition of the manga by Jun Asuka, which was originally released in black and white in 2017. The manga is a direct adaptation of the movie (see “Preview: ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ Manga”). The new edition is in full color and will be released on October 31, 2024, with an MSRP of $19.99.
Disney Manga: Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas – The Battle for Pumpkin King, by Dan Conner and Deborah Allo, was a best-seller when it was first released in September 2023 (see “September 2024 Circana BookScan”) and has continued to sell well since then.
