Steamforged Games has announced a new campaign game in the Bardsung series titled Bardsung: Tale of the Forsaken Glade. The game is set to launch on the crowdfunding platform Gamefound in the near future.
Bardsung: Tale of the Forsaken Glade is a remastered version of the original Bardsung game, which received an ENNIE award. In this new campaign, players enter a forested realm that was once a sanctuary for gods but is now corrupted by a black dragon. Starting on a single tile, players will navigate the forest, encountering enemies like twisted fae, dragon-warped cultists, and various factions engaged in conflict, as they work to save the forest from destruction.
The game features procedurally generated maps, ensuring that no two campaigns are the same. Players can expect a variety of quests, evolving storylines, and branching paths, offering multiple opportunities for exploration and strategic play.
Combat in the game introduces enemies that adapt to the battlefield, presenting tactical challenges. Players will also have the ability to upgrade their heroes by improving stats and unlocking new abilities. The game can be played solo or with up to five players, and the campaign progresses based on the decisions made during play.
Mat Hart, founder and Creative Director at Steamforged Games, commented:
“This time, we’ve deepened the narrative, dialled up the meaningful encounters, and kicked combat up several notches, giving players more immersion, more challenges, and more ways to create their Bardsung legend. The art and miniatures are stunning and grotesque in equal measure, and we can’t wait to share more.”
The Gamefound campaign for Bardsung: Tale of the Forsaken Glade is scheduled to begin soon, with a launch date to be announced. Those who follow the campaign on Gamefound will receive a bonus in the form of the Overseer, a wandering monster from the game, as a free gift with their pledge.
