SlugFest Games has announced the pre-launch of their latest game, Positano, a light Euro-style city-building game. In Positano, players compete to construct resorts on a three-dimensional cliffside, aiming to secure prime locations with scenic views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Each round of the game involves simultaneous bidding for building locations, construction quality, and the building blocks needed for expansion. As players progress, they draft tiles that determine where and how they can build, creating a dynamic challenge in every auction. Once the cliffside is full, only resorts with a clear view of the seaside will score the most points, adding a strategic layer to the game.
Building on different levels of the cliff offers unique opportunities. Lower placements reduce the risk of being blocked by taller buildings, while higher placements allow for taller structures. Scoring is based on the quality of the resorts, having an unobstructed view of the sea, collecting gelato, and completing goal cards, which vary each game to offer new strategies.
Positano combines tactical bidding, tile drafting, and three-dimensional building, all set in the iconic Italian coastal setting. The pre-launch is now open, and more details will follow as the release approaches.
