Newly established board game studio Brainy Hearty, is set to launch its first product, “Tech Race,” on Kickstarter on September 24. The game provides a satirical perspective on the tech industry and Silicon Valley startup culture.
In “Tech Race,” players assume the roles of tech startup CEOs, engaging in resource management and engine building to simulate the experience of running a tech company. The game features a variety of CEO characters, each with unique abilities that reflect traits of real-life tech leaders. For example, the CEO of ‘Teslump’ specializes in automotive technologies, whereas ‘Amazoff’s’ CEO excels in rapid workforce expansion.
The aim for players is to lead the most successful startup, with goals to innovate in the automotive, energy, and healthcare sectors and maximize their company’s valuation. This involves strategic hiring, training, and financial management, alongside competing for market dominance and resource acquisition.
A unique aspect of “Tech Race” is the strategic use of government lobbying in the latter stages of the game, which introduces game-changing policies and events that can influence the course of play.
The game was developed by Ionah Hang Nguyen, founder and CEO of Brainy Hearty, who has a decade of experience in the business and tech sectors.
“With Tech Race, we wanted to immerse players in the dynamic, fast-paced world of tech startups. The game challenges players to think strategically, adapt quickly, and experience the excitement of building something from the ground up. We hope Tech Race not only entertains but also inspires players to embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship.” Nguyen stated.
