New ‘Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game’ Passes $2 Million in a Day

Go On Board and CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game has passed $2 million in funding on Gamefound in its first 24 hours, the companies announced.

As of the publication of this article, Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game is at $2,962,549 with 17,931 backers (about $165 per backer). The new board game has players assuming the roles of either V, Jackie, Panam, or Judy to tackle various jobs in Night City as well as an alternative storyline. In the video game (see “‘Cyberpunk 2077’“), Jackie and V get caught up in a mission gone wrong in Konpeki Plaza that ends up with V getting Johnny Silverhand installed in his head.

The plotline for the board game has Jackie and V never reaching Konpecki Plaza, but instead, taking a mission from a mysterious fixer. This mission sends players off on 13 story campaign missions where they will use Minotaurs (giant mechs), drive the Basilisk (an advanced tank), and eventually the main villain merc Adam Smasher. Along the way, players will buy weapons, install cyberware, and engage in Street Stories in different parts of the city.

This game is for one to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 75 minutes. No word has been given on a retail release date for this game.
