Chaosium Inc has introduced a new scenario for their Rivers of London roleplaying game titled “The Font of All Evil.” This 44-page standalone scenario draws inspiration from Ben Aaronovitch’s urban fantasy novels and serves as an introductory adventure for players.
“The Font of All Evil” sets players on a murder investigation in Ealing, West London. The local police, stumped by the peculiar nature of the victim’s injuries, have called in the Folly, a secretive unit dealing with supernatural crimes, to take over the case. Players must navigate through a home that resembles a hoarder’s nest to determine how and why the victim died and uncover who would benefit from their death.
This scenario is designed to accommodate both new players and those who have previously enjoyed other cases like “The Bookshop” or “Going Underground.” It also includes advice for game masters on how to moderate the game’s focus on violence, allowing for a more adaptable play style depending on group preferences.
“The Font of All Evil” is available for purchase in PDF format directly from Chaosium and DriveThruRPG, and in softcover standard and premium editions that include the PDF.
