Burnin Fish Games Set to Launch “Who Murdered the Turtle?” on Kickstarter

Later this month, Burnin Fish Games, known for “Kitten Casualty,” is preparing to introduce a new card game titled “Who Murdered the Turtle?” via Kickstarter. The murder mystery game combines elements of strategy, teamwork, and deception, challenging players to uncover the murderer among them or be the last turtle standing.

In “Who Murdered the Turtle?” players find themselves in a world where turtles are embroiled in a perilous game. Players are assigned roles at the start, tasked with gathering clues, deploying action cards, and steering clear of Murder Cards that could end their game prematurely. The objective is to either expose the murderer or survive as the sole turtle.

Grayson Bullen, the lead designer at Burnin Fish Games, explained the concept behind the game, stating, “We wanted to create a game that’s easy to learn, but packed with enough strategy and surprises to keep players coming back” He noted that the game takes cues from classics like Werewolf and Russian Roulette, adding unique twists to create a distinct gameplay experience.

The upcoming Kickstarter campaign will offer backers several options, including a limited edition collector’s box with holographic cards and premium linen card upgrades. An expansion pack will also be available, introducing new characters and action cards to accommodate up to eight players. Additionally, backers will have the opportunity to include “Kitten Casualty” in their pledge.

Those interested in the strategic party game can look for the Kickstarter launch in late September 2024.
