The Ars Magica Definitive Edition is scheduled for release on BackerKit at 11am Central on Tuesday, October 15. A signup for launch reminders is currently available.
This edition represents a comprehensive update to Ars Magica 5th Edition, including a revised and expanded deluxe version of the original rulebook. The new edition features over 600 full-color pages, enhanced by new art and golden foil embellishments on a leatherette hardcover. It also includes a premium slipcover, the newly designed Storyguide Screen, a Reference Guide booklet, and a poster map of Mythic Europe.
David Chart, the line developer who has overseen the revision process for over three years, has integrated extensive updates reflecting decades of gameplay along with new material. This version will be more than twice the size of the original rulebook.
In addition, Ars Magica Definitive Edition will be available under an open license, details of which will be shared during the crowdfunding campaign set to begin in October, marking the twentieth anniversary of the 5th Edition’s original release.
