Dark Horse will publish a collection of early Witcher comics that were originally published in Poland, where the franchise originated, and have not been translated into English before. The Witcher: Classic Collection will collect the six-issue series published in Polish in 1993-95. Adapted from the stories of Andrzej Sapkowski, who created the Witcher, the comics are “The Road of No Return,” “The Betrayal,” “Geralt,” “The Lesser Evil,” “The Last Wish,” and “The Bounds of Reason.” The adaptations were written by sci-fi/fantasy writer and editor Maciej Parowski, with art by Boguslaw Polch, who illustrated the covers of the first editions of Sapkowski’s novels. The 296-page, full color paperback will be released on March 18, 2025, in bookstores and March 19 in comic shops with an MSRP of $29.99.
Sapkowski’s books have been adapted into a Netflix series (see “Netflix Cancellation“), a video game, tabletop games (see “New ‘The Witcher’ Tabletop Game Incoming“), and comics, including Dark Horse’s own adaptations of his stories (see “Dark Horse to Adapt ‘Witcher’ Creator’s Short Story“).
