Mark Brooks, Derek Hunter, Scott Kolins, Jerome Opeña, Ryan Ottley, and Ryan Stegman are coming to Baltimore Comic Con

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Baltimore Comic-Con, taking place at the Inner Harbor’s Baltimore Convention Center on September 20-22, 2024. The Baltimore Comic-Con has announced comics guests Mark Brooks, Derek Hunter, Scott Kolins, Jerome Opeña, Ryan Ottley, and Ryan Stegman to the 25th Anniversary event! See the event website for ticketing details, other guest information, and more!

Mark Brooks is a world famous cover artist for Marvel and DC Comics. His covers have earned him an Inkpot Award in 2014, and he is Eisner-nominated (Best Penciler/Inker and Best Limited Series). He has produced designs for a line of Marvel figures manufactured by Sideshow Collectibles. His first professional work was on 10th Muse at Image Comics, and he has since penciled numerous runs and provided covers for titles for both DC and Marvel, among others.

Derek Hunter is a Los Angeles-based animation designer known for his work on Adventure TimeDuckTalesKid Cosmic, and Storybots. In addition to his animation work, Derek is known for avoiding a healthy social life in favor of spending nights and weekends making comics like Walking Dead: Small Bites and Pretty Violent, both available from Image Comics.

Scott Kolins, the award-winning comic book creator known for his art on The FlashThe AvengersJustice LeagueMarvel Team-UpRogues RevengeBlue Beetle, and many more titles, hails from Central Wisconsin. He studied at the Joe Kubert School and was a Romita Raider at Marvel Comics. Scott has written and drawn his own book Adam.3, as well as Solomon GrundyCitizen ColdSuperman-BatmanJSA, and Legends of the Dark Knight. Scott has also worked for Lucasfilm and for The Flash TV show. In case you haven’t guessed, Scott loves comics. He lives in Arizona but travels the world at various conventions, dreaming up new comics and sketching his days away.

Jerome Opeña has been working in comics since 2005. He got his start with Metal Hurlant for Humanoids Publishing and has since worked on projects such as Fear AgentUncanny X-ForceThe Avengers, and his creator-owned book, Seven to Eternity, with frequent collaborator Rick Remender.

Ryan Ottley is an American comic book artist who is most known for his work on the Invincible series. He is a contributing creator on the series who designed and co-created a large part of the Invincible universe with writer Robert Kirkman, and is the primary artist for 127 issues of the 144 issue run. It is now an animated TV series on Amazon Prime video for which Ottley works as a consultant.

After Invincible, Ottley went to Marvel and did 20 issues on Amazing Spider-Man with writer Nick Spencer, and then artist on Hulk with writer Donny Cates. Ottley finished that run as both the writer and the artist.

Ryan Stegman is a comic book artist, writer, and podcaster best known for his work on Marvel Comics characters including She-HulkX-23Spider-Man, and Venom.
