KiwiRPG Week Announces Return with New Adventures and Activities

The third annual KiwiRPG Week, scheduled to start on June 23rd, coincides with the celebration of Matariki, the Māori New Year. The event highlights New Zealand’s contributions to the tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) industry and features a week of live gaming sessions, game launches, and community-focused activities.

Throughout the week, a variety of New Zealand-designed games will be showcased through daily live streams. The lineup includes well-known titles such as Monster of the Week and The Sprawl, alongside newer entries like Deathmatch Island. Other featured games are Arcane Crimes Division, Merger, Fight or Fright, and a special zombie-themed session of d12GO!.

The opening ceremony, to be streamed live, will be led by KiwiRPG chair Liam Stevens. It will feature traditional Māori karakia (prayers) and introduce the planned activities for the week.

The week also marks the release of new content for games such as Monster of the Week and Dungeons & Dragons 5E, along with new games like a Descended From The Queen game and new editions of Gaspunk and Paranormal Wellington. Exclusive game bundles will be available on RPG storefronts DriveThruRPG and itch.io.

Additionally, KiwiRPG will launch an Official Podcast Feed, which will include episodes and interviews from its members. A 20-minute adventure game jam is also scheduled, inviting global designers to create quick, playable games that reflect the spirit of KiwiRPG Week.

KiwiRPG / Kēmu Whakatau O Aotearoa, the organizer of the event, is an association of TTRPG professionals and enthusiasts in New Zealand. The group includes podcasters, streamers, YouTubers, game designers, and writers, working collaboratively to elevate the presence and reach of Kiwi-designed games.
