Pokémon GO Trainers have a chance to win a personalized PokéStop by visiting the new Football Experience at Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Madrid

Trainers,

Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Madrid is just two weeks away, and today we’re excited to reveal a brand-new area for football—soccer—fans to enjoy: the Football Experience! Not only can attendees catch Legendary Pokémon in the beautiful Parque Juan Carlos I from June 14 to 16, they can join us in celebrating the positive benefits of outdoor play in all its forms!

About the Football Experience

This new area will feature a Pokémon GO–themed football skills zone in celebration of football in Europe plus exciting competition prizes for Trainers. A grand prize winner will have the unique chance to have one personalized PokéStop placed within their hometown in a location of their choice for a limited time (subject to Niantic’s standard PokéStop rules). One grand prize will be available per park session (six in total), each on a first-come, first-served basis.

Football Legends

Three legendary international Spanish footballers—past and present—will be in attendance across the three days. Keep an eye out for them on these dates!

Gaizka Mendieta (June 14)
Fernando Morientes (June 15)
Vicky Losada (June 16)

The football stars will take part in meet-and-greet sessions to sign autographs and will host special skill-coaching activities between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. each afternoon of the event.

Special Routes across Madrid

The football stars have also collaborated to prepare a special football-themed Pokémon GO Route for Trainers to enjoy across the three days in the city of Madrid, featuring the LEGENDS Madrid football museum, the Fountain of Neptune, and other special locations.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Pokémon GO Fest to a hugely sporting city and community, and combining the passion of football fans and Pokémon Trainers. We know there is a huge crossover between the two communities and it promises to be a weekend to remember,” said Philip Marz, Director, Regional Marketing EMEA.

Former Real Madrid player, Fernando Morientes, said: “Madrid is my home and holds a special place in my heart for me and my family. I’m so excited to be there to celebrate the positive power of play with tens of thousands Pokémon GO fans on what will also be a special weekend of football. Playing games of all types outside in the park with friends was always something I loved growing up and this event promises to be something special for people of all ages.”

Tickets to Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Madrid are still on sale here for £28/€32 (including tax). For more details on Pokémon GO Fest 2024, please visit the Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Madrid website.

Trainers all over the world can look forward to Pokémon GO Fest 2024: Global, a two-day digital event available everywhere on July 13 and 14.
