Major licenses involving product lines based on comic characters from Marvel Comics and Dog Man were announced in conjunction with Licensing Show in Las Vegas last week.
McFarlane Toys has been granted a license to produce 1:6 and 1:10 figures based on Marvel characters and artwork, the companies announced. The 1:10 scale figures will be based on cover artwork by McFarlane Toys CEO Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee, Steve Ditko, John Romita Jr., and Rob Liefeld. Characters will include Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Deadpool. Each figure will be set within an environmental base and include a diorama background.
The 1:6 figures are based on Marvel artwork by Todd McFarlane. The first two figures will be based on the Captain America pose from the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #323, and a Spider-Man figure, also from McFarlane’s run on the title. Each figure will be mounted on an environmental base with a diorama backdrop, and packaged with a comic reprint.
The new McFarlane Toys Marvel figures will launch this summer.
Jakks Pacific, Inc. and its Disguise costume division have licensed the Dog Man property from creator Dav Pilkey for a line of products based on the Graphix graphic novels and the January 2025 theatrical release (see “Best in Shows – 2025“), the company announced. Products will include plush, action figures, playsets, costumes, and costume accessories, with release planned for early 2025.
Dog Man graphic novels have sold more than 60 million copies in 47 languages worldwide, and are habitually on the kids graphic novel bestseller charts (see “April 2024 Circana BookScan Top 20“).
